FFA Introduced to Future of Soy in Aquaculture

ASA-IM Logo
The National FFA Convention, recently held in Indianapolis, provided 35,000 FFA members and guests the opportunity to explore the future of soy in the aquaculture industry.  The Indiana Soybean Alliance, Purdue University, and USSEC collaborated to provide information and discuss opportunities to increase soy usage in the global aquaculture industry with future leaders of agriculture.

The global aquaculture feed industry is the fastest growing in animal agriculture.  Both national and state soy organizations are working on many levels to ensure that opportunities such as developing the marine aquaculture industry, U.S. offshore aquaculture production, and increasing inclusion rates of soy in aquafeed are realized.

The activities of USSEC are made possible by producer checkoff dollars invested by the United Soybean Board and various State Soybean Councils, support from cooperating industry, and through the American Soybean Association's investment of cost-share funding provided by USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service.
