Crop Quality Report

The Crop Quality Report is an annual survey conducted by University researchers on behalf of the soybean checkoff and the U.S. Soybean Export Council. The crop quality survey serves as a guide to international buyers on overall U.S. soybean quality for decisions regarding the purchase and use of U.S. soybeans. The survey also helps soybean checkoff farmer-leaders identify soybean production regions that may need improvements in soybean quality to meet customers’ demands.

This report summarizes current knowledge on the following soybean quality topics:
• protein and oil composition of the 2007 US soybean crop,
• the 2007 crop in historical perspective,
• weather conditions affecting the 2007 crop,
• the connection between protein content and amino acid levels,
